"everybody knows everybody"

A young woman at the centre of the Porthmadog community was found dead one night in 2010. From 2013-2015, Snippet carried out interviews with the local people of Porthmadog to create ‘Known’. Whilst not seeking to answer the questions of what happened that night, 'Known' is a delicate and often witty exploration of a community learning to rebuild after a devastating tragedy.

Known’ is a play using real interviews from the community of Porthmadog, North Wales. It explores the contrasting characters and voices of Porthmadog and envelops the audience into their unique but universal narratives.

A beautiful piece of theatre that is both funny and extremely moving about a big story in a small town which shouldn’t be forgotten.
— Alecky Blythe (London Road, National Theatre)

remarkably moving, written with great delicacy
— Danny Braverman (Wot? No Fish!!)
[Known] is arguably one of the most thoughtful, honest, and touching debuts I’ve seen. ★★★★★
